Artists Statement
Mixing ideas and history as well as paints is the heart of my Art. Influenced by the Impressionist and Post-Impressmionist painters, and liberated from subject matter by the surrealists, my paintings seek to bring imagination, whimsy and the joy of the act of painting. I improvise the paintings on the canvas, challenging myself to figure out ways to bring a unique energy to the painting. One of the best compliments I have heard about my paintings is “looks like Bob Ross on acid”. I like it because creativity is an act of Joy.
